Is anyone as sick of pointless, plotless, inane, and tritely written Harry/Draco like I am?

I mean seriously, why the fuck do most people who attempt to write this pairing insist on following the SAME GODDAMN BORING outline?

Sound familiar?

Boy meets boy
Boy hates boy
Boy crushes on boy
Boy ends up fucking boy
Boy angsts
Boy still hates boy

Lather. Rinse. Repeat.

What...the...fuck?

What about this pairing zaps the creativity from some people?

Where is it written that *gasp* established H/D with plot is a big fucking no no?

I don't profess to be the best H/D shipper. Far the fuck from it, but at least my H/D stories were different from the norm.

Oh fucking wheee, let's use the same fucking story and just change the kink. I see it all the time. I see the same shitty H/D authors being recced.

Fuck this.

If you hate seeing this as much as I do, voice your opinion. To the creative H/D writers - you KNOW who you are. Give me a shout out, hmm?

I hate this pairing. When I first joined fandom, I read it, but I got burned out on the same damn plot over and over again even back then, and quickly jumped ship. It takes a VERY heavily recced H/D to get me to read it now. It's a shame, because I'm sure it's got potential, but all the formulaic writers have sucked the life out of it.

I'm just as burned out on Sirius/Remus. I find that pairing totally boring and avoid it all costs now.

I feel a little bad for seizing on negativity, but it gets lonely being a Sirius/Remus hater.

You're not alone, dear, I find most H/D and SB/RL fic:

1) fluffy (all fluff must die)
2) schmoopy (see above)
3) slash-lite (whereby we have het-in-disguise)
4) featuring characters that share names with their canon counterparts but little wrt personality traits. (yes, with the swooning harry and the flirty draco and the sweet-and-schmoopy wolfy!fic - gah!)

I tend to read darkfic, usually, which thankfully weeds out most H/D and SB/RL stuff quite effectively.

I like the Harry/Draco pairing - or rather I like it's potential, and potential dynamic - but I rarely read it. Too much bad fic to wade through for a pairing I don't like that much. Whereas with Sirius/Remus I just don't like the pairing. It's a totally subjective reaction; I can see the why it could be hot, angsty and so forth, but to me it's just boring. Which is a shame, because I love the individual characters, and am intrigued by what I see as their strong platonic friendship. And, er, I think my I might project a little vicarious jealousy on the part of my Snape muse *g*.
