tripperfunster, who implanted the idea of Singing Telegrams into my brain. This is completely silly and all her fault. *G*
A Funny Way of Making Peace
The boy had a funny way of making peace.
He could've sent an owl. Or just as easily have said nothing and let well enough alone.
But Potter, never to be outdone, was standing outside Snape's door on Spinner's End, ringing his broken bell and righting the upside down six of his address while he waited to be noticed.
In the worst fucking get-up imaginable.
It might have been less painful to let the boy have his say. Then again, it might have been less painful to self-inflict a broken glass and Firewhisky enema. But, since Snape was still nursing a bottle of single-malt, he opted for the former and took his chances.
The door opened with a creak.
Potter coughed into a closed fist, and readjusted his bourgeois mask. Even without the theatrics, Snape could still see the telltale scar inching its way up Potter's forehead and into that tumbledown mess of hair.
"Singing Smut-O-Gram!"
Snape just barely stirred, nodding faintly for Potter to proceed. The voice cracked, understandably and embarrassingly so.
"I heard that you were freed and cleared.
Medals! Statues! Merlin's beard!
I know you think I came to mock.
But I'm just here to suck your ---- "
The door closed with a thwump in Potter's face.
Damn, but the boy had a funny way of making peace. But, Snape mused, ticking off from ten backwards before pulling Potter inside by the arm.
Snape had an even funnier way of keeping the peace.
