I meant to post this yesterday, but I was too distracted by the news for anything more.

imochan is hosting the REMUS/SIRIUS LOVE FEST and announcing that there will be a 2009 edition of dogdaysofsummer.

If you're a R/S shipper, then let me give you a nudge in that direction. There's art and fic links, drabble prompts and drabbles and fond rememberances.

I was actually a huge Remus/Sirius shipper before I joined Live Journal. R/S is like that first girlfriend/boyfriend you lose your cherry to and never quite get over.

xylodemon and I had a conversation a while back about what was wrong with fandom today, and we both agreed that it's because it's not 2005 anymore :P

I know, right? More than anything, I miss feeling connected to everyone like I felt back then. Now the crowd I hung with has mostly dispersed, Maeglin is like, gone, and everyone else is in different fandoms and I haven't talked to most of them for months. Back then, there was something fun going on all the time. I miss it.

There was always something fun going on. The fics were better. Snape wasn't dead. I refreshed the fuck outta my screen for Smutmas sign-ups. There was no next-gen to distract me etc etc etc.

I have no idea. I Googled her real name a while back and found evidence of her as recently as April 2009, so I know she's still alive, at least. That's about all I know, though.

I cannot agree with you more! I obviously still ship them hardcore but it's because when I love I love forever. I recently found the blog of that person and my heart raced a little and I felt a little giddy just like reading a really old but really good fic does to me.

I am struggling with the possibility that it may actually *not be fandom* that is driving me mental, it may be me - in that, my perception and patience with fandom has become strained.

Things were different and new stuff was new, but generally, fandom is what you make it - you CHOOSE your flists, you choose the things you do for fandom, you choose to become involved or lurk, read/write/whatever. So, is it me? My choices?

The trigger thing has my knickers is a somewhat twisted twist. I'm staying out of it all because, hello, putting the dog down has me in constant near tears, and I don't feel particularly rational right now.

The HP world is disintegrating; SGA died in approximately three days; I think I only have one due South story left in me and the way I feel now, everyone will probably get shot at the end; I'm not sure I fit into the ST: Reboot world; and pirates has fractured into millions of disgruntled fangirls who are all mad at each other. Yes, I'm wondering how I, too, fit into this new millenium.

The H/D story. :) It's not going anywhere.
