My thoughts on medical kink and a rec

I must admit, Moody/Neville is not a pairing I would go out of my way to read. I'm really funny about pairings.

However, I have been proved wrong before. Scroll down a few posts if you have no clue as to what I'm talking about.

So anyway, I took a chance on magdellin's House Call. It was written for biichans's birthday. Lucky girl :-)

The 'medical fantasy' kink really piqued my interest. Some of you may or may not know that I'm a third year medical student. The human body, inside and out, is utterly fascinating to me.

And well, I must admit, this sort of thing really hits a kink factor with me.

If medical kink is your sort of thing, and you ever need a question answered, people PLEASE feel free to come to me for answers. I don't profess to be an expert, but I'd like to think I'm fairly knowledgeable. I've dirtied my hands so many times.

This is something that needs to read accurately. I'd probably tend to point out inconsistencies if I saw something flawed. I've read a few that rubbed me the wrong way because of trying to bullshit one's way through.

On titling fics

I'm hard pressed to admit -- sometimes the title of a fic is the deciding factor on whether or not I read it.

Titles can be very eye catching, and sometimes I need that stimulus (can I call it this?) to attract my attention.

Witty, clever, thought provoking -- anything really. I just need to make that connection.

To me, there is nothing worse than a poorly titled fic. Does anyone else share these sentiments?

Do poor titles affect your judgement? Does the word 'Untitled' tend to turn you off?

How do you go about choosing an appropriate title for your fic? Song titles, catchy phrases?

What about sharing story titles with a well-known author? So many fics out there. It has to happen more often than not.
