I must admit, Moody/Neville is not a pairing I would go out of my way to read. I'm really funny about pairings.

However, I have been proved wrong before. Scroll down a few posts if you have no clue as to what I'm talking about.

So anyway, I took a chance on [livejournal.com profile] magdellin's House Call. It was written for [livejournal.com profile] biichans's birthday. Lucky girl :-)

The 'medical fantasy' kink really piqued my interest. Some of you may or may not know that I'm a third year medical student. The human body, inside and out, is utterly fascinating to me.

And well, I must admit, this sort of thing really hits a kink factor with me.

[livejournal.com profile] gmth mentioned [livejournal.com profile] nimori's Idle Hands, so I'm off to check that out now.

If medical kink is your sort of thing, and you ever need a question answered, people PLEASE feel free to come to me for answers. I don't profess to be an expert, but I'd like to think I'm fairly knowledgeable. I've dirtied my hands so many times.

This is something that needs to read accurately. I'd probably tend to point out inconsistencies if I saw something flawed. I've read a few that rubbed me the wrong way because of trying to bullshit one's way through.

If anyone has any links to share, please go ahead and list them.

I'll hold you to your offer some day! Perhaps I'll even come up with some disgusting but fascinating list :D For example, when skinning someone, does their death depend on how much skin you peel or where it's done? I would say how deep also because surely with the epidermis being so thin you can just cut that, or skin it, unless you're really praticsed etc.

excuse my crap spelling, it's late.

Skin -- the largest organ of the human body.

Depth definitely factors. Past the epidermis and the dermis. Eventually, if deep enough, you'll strike muscle. You would have to slice past the epidermis because this part of the skin is non-sensitive and non-vascular.

Skin is the outer protective covering of the body. Any trauma,(epecially 'skinning') if not allowed to heal, is prone to infection and further weakening.

Also, don't forget, sweating rids the body of waste material secreted through the pores of the skin.

Mmmm (should really not be so fascinated). Grazie mille! You've given me some ideas for a fic.

Actually, I do have a question. The fic seems to be begging for a sequel, and I've been throwing up a few ideas. [livejournal.com profile] pitchblackrose and I were talking, and I was *going* to ask my father's fiance, who's a nurse, but I felt a bit daft since she knows I always ask loaded questions, and, you know, porn.

If a person is, erm, bedridden, and can't get up to go to the loo, I assume they still need to defecate occasionally. Now, I'm familiar with the whole bedpan idea, but enemas are surely used for something. So I was wondering, if they can't get up to let it out in the bathroom, where does the poo go? Does it get syphoned out somehow, or does it go in some form of bedpan, or what?

I don't honestly imagine that I'll write this now, because it seems a bit complex. And I spent this morning reading very, very poor enema stories (on a site where you couldn't send feedback: I felt positively sinful!). But I'm terribly curious now.

Thank you ever so much for the rec, though. You rock! I'm really glad that you liked it.

Enemas can also be used as laxatives. Probably TMI -- but I have a few friends that simply canNOT shit when they go on vacation. NOT defecating is BAD. The body must expel these toxins or you could literally poison yourself with waste. It will NOT syphon itself.

Now then, there are some people that cannot defecate themselves for whatever reason (mostly cancer -- colorectal cancer). These people wear a colostomy bag, and it must be changed. It attaches at the end of the long intestine where the rectum meets. Think of this as an artificial anus.

Were you thinking on a scat or enema fic?

If you need anything explained in better detail -- go ahead and email me.

Hmm -- now catheter. I could see a Lucius/Draco catheter fic.
