So sue me. I'm overdue :P And what with being sick and losing the first draft of my recs, I'm about as murderous as Lucius Malfoy in a room full of Muggles.

The Remus/Sirius fans might agree with me here.

You're reading that Remus/Sirius sex on the motorcycle fic, and the author doesn't know shit from shinola when it comes to motorcycles and corresponding periods and countries. Crotch rockets, people? Harley Davidsons? Somebody needs a bitchslapping, man.

Triumph. Possibly an Indian. Never a Honda.

And if you must be an ass and put Sirius on a Harley -- there is a fucking 'd' before the 's' in Davidson.

That is all.

Dude. The first time I listened to that song, I thought OMG IT'S SIRIUS BLACK. Then I saw your icon and passed out. Then, of course, there followed a conversation about Sirius/Molly. Errr....

So, like, totally amen! sister.

Oooh perfect op. I'm about to do a painting of Sirius on his motorbike for the sirius fest... what sort do you think he'd ride? I'm afraid I'm really ignorant on things like that, but as you pointed out, I dont want to display this ignorance to the world by putting him on a godawful OOC bike :O

LOL.

I've always seen Sirius on a '65 BMW R60. Or maybe a really old army R12 that he was constantly tinkering on. But that's probably just cause I love those bikes. :)

Amen! I am not the only one! Actually, I see it more as an R60/2, like this one (http://jeff.dean.home.att.net/68r60w.jpg), but that's mere quibbling.

Word.

I'll also add to that another fandom complaint, for LOTRips RPS fics. The boys surf, but most authors know absolute crap about surfing and it leaves me wanting to scream. There's just some things that HOWL out that the author has no practical experience about it.

Word. besides, and this is sort of OT, it's so hard to find good R/S fic nowadays, IMHO. Is like the gems are buried under piles and piles of over stereotyped stuff *sigh*

It's all gone a bit pete tong, all this sort of stuff. If I were any good, I'd start writing sh*t myself, but I'm a fanfic squib, and therefore, will be in the corner with [livejournal.com profile] expeliarbum bitching about the lack of good R/S fanfic.

*sigh* Sorry about your lost of first drafts. I'm supposed to be tinkering with my resume but I'm here on LJ.

You've been good then, I trust?

LOL I know how you feel bad fanfics are a pain in the rear. Is it so hard to do some research and ask for a beta?

I haven't updated my rec list/community (Twisted Fantasy) in ages because it is so hard finding some new snarry and drarry fics which are NOT WIPs and great at the same time. =(

And that is why I stay away from writing or drawing motorcycles. ;)

But I really can't imagine Sirius on a Harley Davidson...you can partially blame it on the "Harley Davidson leggings" every girl wore in the mid-nineties. Or simply because it's a too "American" motorcycle.

And who'd put him on a Honda?

I'm English, and I rode (and drove) Harleys (and Nortons and Hondas) in the 1970's! Harleys were the trendiest bikes in existence - everyone wanted one.

Norton :)

Heh, it's English! And it won races during the seventies. And a model from the early seventies would have been second hand enough for Sirius to buy it!

eep! *smoochies for the illness babes*

I agree that people should get their facts straight and I'll always check that a make or model existed in the time frame I'm writing about - drives me insane when people don't.

just out of interest hon - what's Sirius got against Honda? In 1977 I was pillion riding on one of these... brummmm. bruuummmmm........oh those vibrations... However I do understand that he's quite likely to favour the british bikes.

Haha, I fear I must confess: all motorcycles look alike to me. Flipping through the various pictures linked in the comments, I found myself nodding, 'A black bike... another black bike... yep, looks like a motorcycle to me...'

The only way I can really differentiate them is by general build -- Harleys, for example, look very heavy and, erm, overloaded, to me, usually. Very bulky and overdone. Smaller, lighter-looking models look, well, smaller and lighter, but that's the limit of my classifications. :D

From: [identity profile] framlingem.livejournal.com
Harleys aren't all heavy and overloaded :) I give you the 2001 Sportster as an example, or the V-rod (holy cow, that thing is sex on wheels...)

I've been in the middle of searching for good Triumph pictures to use as a model for a really big charcoal or blackwash picture of him on the bike. My dad has a Triumph from way back when, but it's a bit rusty right now.
But yeah.
Just curious, but what year bike would you think he'd have anyhow? New for his year? Something older that'd been tinkered with for a while to make it fly? It's been bugging me greatly.

And she's a 1970 Norton Commando, 750ccs, black with gold trim, damnit.

And if not, then yes, a Triumph.
