Rebellion (And Suffering The Consequences) - Draco/James Jr [NC-17] byleashy_bebes.
Just when I'd thought I'd lost a lot of my faith in next-gen-cross, along comesleashy_bebes with a life preserver of a fic that I've now read twice in one day. I like almost never do this. Usually, I go back after a year or so like I'm plucking one of my favourite DVDs from the shelf for a rewatch. So, that should definitely tell you something.
This is an infidelity fic, and I make no illusions as to the prettiness of that. According to the author, infidelity was a major obstacle to be overcome, and I get the sense that while it was difficult to write, it was necessary. I really need to take a page out of Leashy's book here and try this myself, because this feels like an important growth process I need to explore. But, dear readers, I digress.
The fic starts off with James lamenting over his father's indiscretions. I'm little more than a few sentences in, and I already love this, because Harry's not off tramping with another boy. Harry makes a promise to end it, but then two years down the line, he's leaving Ginny and the kids, because um, yeah, that's what cheating men do; they break their promises.
Shortly thereafter, James finishes school and decides on a career as an Advocate, Advocacy being the branch of wizarding law defence. Again, brilliant. James, being the young and overly enthusiastic boy that he is, applies with the firm Edwards and Malfoy just to spite the old man. Because this is what jaded, hotheaded boys do.
Advocacy is the perfect career choice for Draco. His personality is extremely well suited to this. And James really falls in line with it, hero-worshipping Draco like there's no bloody tomorrow. Enter inevitability and all its ill-fated consequences. Oh, boys, two wrongs never make a damned right.
Have I mentioned the HOT AS ALMIGHTY FUCKING GOD sex yet? Good LORD, my spine not only tingled, it fucking SHIFTED. Oh, and it's just as beautiful as it is sexy. The words 'cock' and 'arse' are not even mentioned, and the sheer hottitude was mind numbing. Going to leave you all with a quote that REALLY struck a chord with me; The whole weekend is a blur of sex and afterglow, and sex in the afterglow.
