Fandom and other fandoms -- do you indulge?

Besides the Harry Potter fandom -- do you write for any other fandoms currently?

What ships do you like in other fanverses?

Have you considered trying your hand at writing for another fandom?

Or perhaps you left another fandom to come to Harry Potter?

Do you consider some of the fandoms to be flash in the pans?

And lastly, how long do you foresee the Harry Potter fandom lasting?

I know that I've written for;

LoTR
TPM
Star Trek
X-Men

[livejournal.com profile] cave_canem is making me seriously consider the Buffyverse.

What are your thoughts on the topic?

Final Fantasy 7 baby! And all its incarnations. ^^ Also have a few other miscellandous fandoms thrown in here and there, like McCaffrey (shhh, it's a sekrit fandom!) and a few animes that caught my eye years ago (Gundam Wing, Yu Yu Hakusho, and a few others)

That usually depends on the author and how well s/he pulls the pairing off. I'll be the first to admit I'm a rather shallow reader, in that I"ll always try certain prefered pairings first - like Snape/Harry, Kurama/Hiei, Kurama/Yuusuke - but I'll try anything if I hear from enough people I trust that it's worth it. Hence why I read this Snape/Hermione fic a long time ago. ^^ And yes, it was worth it because it was soooo good.

Have you considered trying your hand at writingdrawing for another fandom?

That usually depends on the fandom. Take Lord of the Ring for example. I LOVE the fandom, but I don't particularly want to draw it because I feel I couldn't do them justice.

Or perhaps you left another fandom to come to Harry Potter?

Eh, I didn't leave my old FF7 fandom, I just included the HP one since the FF7 fandom was dimminishing greatly and I needed something to keep me occupied.

What do you mean?

And lastly, how long do you foresee the Harry Potter fandom lasting?

Considering I've been here for at least two years now, I think it's gonna last for a while yet. I'm sure how JKR deals with the upcoming books will have a great deal to do with it too...
