I'll be the first to admit -- I don't write Remus Lupin well.
I know that I 'prefer' him submissive. I have a harder time wrapping my brain around alpha Remus, especially paired with Snape or Sirius.
I think people associate his lycanthropy with 'aggressive' tendency and sometimes forget that not all wolves are alphas of their packs.
So for those of you that write Remus Lupin on a consistent basis, do you prefer him aggressive or docile? Or perhaps a little of both?

Date: 2004-04-22 10:03 pm (UTC)He's definitely more in control of his emotions (at least publicly, in front of Harry) than say, Snape (or Sirius). The wolfsbane scene in PoA shows that--Snape's trying to get under Remus's skin, but Remus just calmly brushes it off (which infuriates Snape more).
I find it hard to get into a Remus who's utterly docile, but I don't see him as overtly dominating, either.
So I guess that's c) a little of both! :D
