Autumn Feels and Other Miscellany

* Under normal circumstances, I would've been sorry to see the summer go. But it was unfailingly hot this year, and I do not function well in extreme heat. Autumn is definitely my favourite season, and we do see a bit of everything here in Michigan. I love the smell of burning leaves. I love Halloween. I love the colour changes. And I love the seasonal pumpkin stuffs at Starbucks. I want to jump in a pile of leaves now ♥

* Finally finished season 7 of Supernatural. Am very eager for season 8. You know, it took me at least three damn tries to get into SPN, and I'm glad I persevered. But man, season 1 was tough to get through.

* Had an awesome fandomish get-together Saturday for Avengers frivolity with tracy7307, valis2, venivincere, isisanubis, kel_reiley, and apple_pathways. We had pizza on Avengers' themed plates, and Tracy totes wore a phake arc reactor. Much fun and silliness was had by all ♥

* Am about 1,000 words into my tw_fallharvest fest fic. It's really kind of refreshing to do fest fics in other fandoms. I had lots of fun writing for the got_exchange and mcshep_match in past years. Am still hoping for a pinch hit for hd_holidays. Have been thinking a lot about writing in Avengers, too. I have a lot of Tony/Loki feels \0/

* Oh, and I kinda went ahead and did this... TMP's Tumblr. I still have no idea what I'm going to do with it, but there it is.

* I have a shittonne of art recs queued. I need a few more hours in my day :P

Heh. I wrote thousands of words of this awesome epic romance/mystery/meta story about everything HP and H/D and then realized there was no fucking way in hell I would finish it on time. So now I'm... writing Plan B. *hangs head*

I AM EXHAUSTED, but so excited for the holiday fest season. :D As a hardcore fangirl, it is one of my favorite parts of the season. Even though I have no time whatsoever and a million other things to do, I have decided that yes, sherlockmas will be running its annual fic exchange. (I feel like, at this point in my life, the descriptor "like a crazy person" could easily be applied to all my actions and/or decisions. But hey: that's how I roll. :P)

Oh, yeah, season one... The actors were pretty obviously trying to figure out where this was supposed to go (and they weren't very good--whoops, did I say that?), the whole thing had an erratic feel to it, and, and... Yeah, I can see where anyone would have difficulties getting into it.

Me too. Need to get out the door again. I really need to start doing better with exercise, eating healthy, and getting more sleep. My exhaustion levels are ridiculous.

You know, when I meticulously outline and start a story with 1001 details and everything, and then realise it must be at least 50k to make any sense. And then it happens again. And again. And again.

Oh, and there was this time when I thought of a really fun story, and I knew exactly how to write it, but it hinged on me being able to write the procedures & stuff of British Muggle police convincingly, and I couldn't do it. ANOTHER EPIC DOWN THE DRAIN.

I don't even want to mention the current one, I don't want to jinx it.

Hmm, I found SPN S7 tough to get through... I'm not sure I could describe even a single ep of it if pushed now. Somehow I think I may not be watching 8. S1 and 2 were way better to me *shrug*

Oh, not the Bobby stuff. In fact, I first realised I was developing a 'take it or leave it' attitude about SPN when Weekend at Bobby's was the high point of S6 for me.

There was just nothing that grabbed me about S7, even though I kept trying. The only thing I specifically dislike about the later seasons (not that SPN is alone in it, I've stopped watching other shows I was less invested in because of it) is the intrusive background music that has turned up more and more since they lost actual music. Overall I think it's just been a gradual decline of interest for me.
