Yeah, I’m late to the party on this one. So late, in fact, that the dip has soured and all the balloons have deflated, and I’m stuck with the last piece of shit cake bathed in candlewax frosting.

But even if just *one* person follows this rec, well then, mission fucking accomplished.
I can’t say enough about Astolat’s writing. I’ve followed Ast through a number of fandoms, and the writing is always top-notch, the storytelling amazing. Always a great deal of thought and care in the planning. All of the voices are spot on, but it's Loki’s characterisation that makes me weep with utter joy. I’m drawing so many hearts around this, in as many shades as I can. All the best Crayola flavours. New to Avengers and Thor/Loki and don’t know where to start? I’m at the fork in the road pointing you here.

HA! I just read this one a few days ago! I also adore Astolat! It's great to see so many recs pop up on my Flist. I was very reluctant about Thor/Loki in the beginning (I read/wrote Lucius/Draco with great passion but had "problems" with Thor/Loki ... O.o ... no idea why!) but fortunately my reluctance was cured by Astolat (and HummingbirdMoth, K_dAzrael et al ...)

Really, I have NO idea! I couldn't read anything with this pairing prior to The Avengers, so I missed all the Thor/Loki fic when it came out right after Thor.

It may be because I don't find Hemsworth particularly interesting–I mean I find him very goodlooking and blond and gorgeous ... but somehow he doesn't resonate with me as much as Barton/Jeremy renner does (although Hemsworth is definitely the better looking one!) ...

I only got around to it, because I initially liked Barton/Loki (Can you guess, that my favourite HP pairing is Sirius/Severus and Lucius/Severus? Dysfunctional Pairing, thine name be Caro ... O.o) ... only the fics that I've read so far, despite all being brilliantly written, don't really scratch my personal itch.

Then I somehow fell into Hummingbirdmoth's Thor/Loki fics and I fell in love!

I think Hummingbirdmoth and Astolat are going to be my Fabula Rasa of the Avengers Fandom ...

Though I admit, I'm all over Tony/Loki right now.I think that and Thor/Loki are gonna be my two pairings. I always had to have two pairings. Less, and the dynamics get boring quickly, more and I'm stretched too thin.
I've read some many fics these past two weeks, I'm already starting to lose track of them, mixing up plots and forgetting key points. Ah, the first weeks of a new fandom. Good times.
