Snarry-A-Thon started today! I have been seriously jonesing for some good Snarry art, and man, I didn't have to wait long.
Snuggle Bunnies [WS] by Mystery Artist.
Just. Completely. Sighworthy.
And a non SaT rec, but equally lovely.
The Magic of Trains [PG] by
leela_cat.
Ah, what I like to call a 'happy accident' fic. Something I run across by sheer accident that makes me gleefully happy. I love when Harry seizes the role of doting godfather. Here, he's assembling a magical train set for little Teddy, and Teddy's just zooming about on an excitement high chugga chugga choo-chooing. That is, until, Mr Grumpypants makes an appearance and complains about the noise level. I know I sometimes like to groxx about sweetness and domesticity, but this fic sort of poked me in all the right places and said 'Read me, you are loath to resist the adorableness.'
Enjoy all!

Date: 2010-04-05 07:52 pm (UTC)Totally agreed on pretty art. As an example, I have been known to rec Draco/Hermione or Draco/Ginny art, but I care nothing for either pairing enough to read fic. Isn't it funny how we make exceptions for art for pairings we have no interest in?
Both of the Snarry-A-Thon art pieces posted so far are gorgeous. I still need to rec the other one.

Date: 2010-04-05 07:57 pm (UTC)I think it's more of a time investment thing for me. You can look at fabulous art and fall in love with it in just a few minutes, and if it doesn't do it for you, you haven't lost an afternoon reading. Fics are much more of a commitment. It's a shame, because I know I've missed some awesome ficcage, but this is life. *pouts*

Date: 2010-04-05 08:07 pm (UTC)Unfortunately, when you rec art, more often that not, you have to trip over just as many bad pieces, but the commitment is minimal, so it's not as much of a bother.
I started a Snarry fic today that I had to back out of, because it wasn't my cuppa and that was about twenty minutes lost, but I'm at work so I'm not quite as fussed. *G*
