Christ, the olympics are almost over with, and I haven't uttered a peep. But I've seen everyone gush over their favourites and comment in general, so I wanted to as well!

1.) USA hockey team = MADE of WIN. I'm from Detroit, so we Hockeytowners love the game unconditionally. This should be interesting to see who takes gold.

2.) Where is the Shaun White love? Okay, so he and Carrot Top were separated at birth, but Shauny's the king of halfpipe!

3.) Yes, Jonnhy Weir is wonderful but Evan Lysacek is REALLY WONDERFUL ♥

4.) I think snegurochka_lee had the right of things. I really think you need to be Canadian in order to appreciate Curling. DO. NOT. GET.

5.) Love Johnny Weir? Read wemyss's The Age of Gold. Also, Silver. Oh, and Bronze, Come to That. Most brilliant crossover ♥

6.) Where is the Apolo Anton Ohno love, too? I love watching him speedskate, and well, there's just something about a boy who can crack walnuts with his thighs <3

7.) Bobsledding FTW! It's been my favourite winter event since the tender age of six.

8.) In short, I think I enjoy the winter games that much more. Better events. Distractions in which to combat the doldrums of winter. And you won't find a bigger gathering of men who look delish in lycra. *G*

Someone (who shall remain nameless) wrote a Snupin ice skating fic years ago, and it was positively HORRID. I think I have a very hard time envisioning a.) Snape on skates b.) Snape in a lycra jumpsuit c.) Snape doing a triple saukau (sp?)

Snape's just not the athletic type. It would take A LOT of convincing me on the author's part. Now, Harry/Draco...that I could see. And yes, it would be very Cutting Edge-y. TOEPICK!

I agree with you that Snape's not the type at all. I'm not usually one for outlandish AUs, but i think I could take a cutting edge snarry just because it would be pretty hysterical-- believable? No. But funny! I can just picture Harry complaining that he has to be the 'girl' in the pairing, and Snape pointing out that he's taller/stronger, and then, when harry contradicts him, Snape holds out his arms and goes 'you think you can lift me, very well, lift. Or something.

Harry/Draco would def. work too! ha.

It's a pity there won't be another Snarry Games. I could totally see the_con_cept doing a Cutting Edge parody for shits and giggles. Femme, too, could probably make it work. In a totally different way, of course. But not everyone could pull this off.

I'm from Montana and my husband, who grew up just south of the Canadian border, is a big fan of curling. I have learned to appreciate the strategy of the game. It can be thrilling! Okay, maybe not thrilling but we enjoy watching a few ends over the lunch hour.

So, was he actually disqualified? Or, did they let him take home silver? Poor woobie! I loved him on Dancing with the Stars.

I have tried hard to not fall into the temptation of Olympics this year... failed almost entirely due to Mr Weir.

Still, much love for Lysacek (no, I don't buy into the Weir vs Lysacek thing. They're both awesome and in very different ways—which is a great thing for the sports). Lysacek is breathtakingly handsome and his skating is strong and powerful. He deserved his gold—his footwork and artistic elements were impressive as well; Plushenko's programme had a bit of sloppiness that I hadn't expected before watching. :)))

Yeah, you know I tried to hold out for as long as I did, too, and that did not work out so well. Didn't quite become an obsession, but now I'm wanting to read Johnny/Evan fic. Femme and Fire should collab liek whoa!

Curling is a bit like golf: you really have to be into it to get it. Otherwise it's a bit like watching grass grow ice freeze. :)

Was sooo disappointed Team USA placed silver in hockey, but thems the breaks I suppose.

You know, the weird thing? My niece's husband golfs, and he's always going on about the benefits of the game, so I've actually been thinking about starting up golf. Which is normally so not my thing. Go figure :P

I'm almost entirely excellent; I've been hiking, and today I made it to the Potomac in about a half hour (for me, that is a miracle). *twirls on jelly legs*

I'd love to see what you'd do with Snuna! If you're interested, I think I'm going to have drabble-drawble days to fill in the missing ones (we have 26 participants this year instead of 30, which gives us four days to play with), so you could come 'round and play without any pressure. :D Oh, and pimping would be lovely!

After watching all the sports with men in skintight bodysuits, from short-track to figure skating, the ladies were just so...boring. Maybe it's cause they all wore pastels.

Speaking of speed skating- OMG the relay! They push off each other's bums. Best. Thing.
