Bear with me, bébés. I still have [livejournal.com profile] smutty_claus recs, and I started a wonderful Snarry fic last night. I won't even mention all of the art recs I have saved up, because it makes my poor widdle head spin :P

[Ficses]

Says The Magpie To The Morning (Sorrow, Take Your Own Advice) - Harr/Draco, Draco/Blaise [NC-17] by Mystery Author.

I've been trying to put into words my feelings on this fic, and I have come up painfully short. I don't think there are words eloquent enough in my vocabulary to properly express the extreme joy of reading something so wonderful and so uplifting.

The moment this fic went up, I knew whose it was. Not going to give specifics on how I knew this, though. I don't want to make this obvious for anyone in the future. But let's just chalk it up to a long stay in fandom and a great appreciation…no, no…admiration for this person's writing. I've long thought this person should be writing professionally, because, yeah, she needs to be spreading her love of storytelling far and wide. Christ, I wish I had a fraction of her talent.

I love adore worship her Harry/Draco dynamic. It works for me in every. single. way. possible. Few people have that magic, that power over me. And it seems to mostly contain itself with a specific letter of the alphabet that shall remain nameless. *G*

This is a Draco-centric story, and I positively love Draco's voice here. Not that I don't love Harry's voice either, but I seem to gravitate more to Draco's side when I read Harry/Draco. He's doing well for himself, but he's been wandering aimlessly after a break-up with Harry months ago. The Manor's been auctioned off, and his mother's been shuffled off to live with his Aunt Andromeda while Lucius remains in Azkaban for white-collar crime. There's a lot to be thankful for but not much to be happy with.

And so begins the long odyssey of 'go away, no, wait a minute.' A push/pull of hot sex and 'fuck, this is a really shitty idea getting back together.' Both of them were cheating bastards, and they're both afraid of getting their hearts broken again. There are interfering friends along the way and misunderstandings and Draco's ambivalence with visiting his father, and I happily went along for the ride knowing it would have its ups and downs. But oh, how I love having my heart broken only to have it pieced back together with nary a crack remaining.

If I had to compare this fic to a puzzle, I would say that it comes together beautifully. Start with the edges; the wonderful fairy tale spirit of magpie magic. The middle pieces easily snap into place. Take the time to really savor this, please.

Just so you know, your recs and how you summarize and pimp stories are just as a joy to read as the stories themselves so thank you for that. :)

Agreed! I've found this piece of trivia quirky ever since noticing.

I was pretty sure on the author, but there was this one item--literally one object mentioned in the story--that finalized my suspicions.

This was my first time following a fest during its posting season and whew! It winded me and I only held the responsibilities of a polite reader. But the energy and enthusiasm are contagious!

Maybe I should change my LJ username to something beginning with this letter :P

Then you'd really end up giving the letter a monopoly on talent. Your allegiance is to the Es anyways :)
