Numbered Post

1.) So, New Moon lulz. I got dragged to see the new Twilight movie this weekend and was mostly bored with the bad acting and tween romance. It's funny, because when the first Twilight movie came out, [livejournal.com profile] libby_drew made an interesting point about wanting to see more Cullens and to hell with Edward. I feel very similarly about the Volturi. Best ten minutes of the entire two hour movie. Give me a group of egotistical elders over a pack of Abercrombie and Fitch model pups. Hello Jamie Campbell Bower, you gorgeous thing you. Bonus points for casting Todd the Wraith as Marcus.

2.) HERE. HAVE A REC! Till Death Do Us Part - Harry/Draco, Harry Ginny [R] by AMAZING ARTIST.

I have no words, really, to quantify my love, but this person is a master storyteller. Seriously, this person does things with brush strokes some people can't do with words.

And, my dears, [livejournal.com profile] hp_darkfest is still going on until the end of the month. Much to my disappointment, I had to drop out last year. But I did follow through this year, and I'm quite pleased with the result.

3.) I am really enjoying the Harry/Scorpius LDWS challenge. Which sort of amuses me, because I am so not the keenest H/Sc shipper. But hey, stranger things have happened. The winner of the first round was announced last night, but it's not too late to still read them and take part in this week's vote. Lots of great drabbles!

4.) I joined a kickboxing class as I am attempting to get back into shape to start training for my third degree belt in Tae Kwon Do. I've also been hitting the treadmill recently, 2 x d x 45m, and I won't mention the layers of dust I had to clean off of it first. *coughs*

5.) WRITING HIATUS. Must finish Hols. I'll be back soonish. To everyone who celebrates Thanksgiving, please have a safe and wonderful holiday ♥

Peace out.

OH MY GOD THAT WAS TODD? I knew I recognized him, but was too lazy to IMDB him (and I didn't know the character's name). a;dshfaksjdfh That movie was SO BAD. I can't believe you had to endure it in the theatre.

[identity profile] themostepotente.livejournal.com 2009-11-25 01:49 pm (UTC)(link)
Yeah, it was pretty bad, but hey, it had Jamie Campbell Bower and Christopher Heyerdahl in it. Can't complain there! I just wish they'd hurry up and issue this SGA movie on DVD already. CH is supposed to be in that, too. *G*

Eep, that art! Chilling.

I have indeed! She is so talented.

Hey, can I ask, how did you come to choose Tae Kwon Do over other martial disciplines? Just curious!

[identity profile] themostepotente.livejournal.com 2009-11-25 01:53 pm (UTC)(link)
My first choice was actually Kung Fu, Amers, but I couldn't find a decent seifu close enough in proximity. Thus, my training in Tae Kwon Do began. But I am terribly out of shape and practice right now. I do have a background in Japanese weaponry, too. I've been at the sais for about eight years now.

Someone from a message board I visit has a good name for that abominable series - Twighite ^_^ I really hate it and no one could every drag me into any of those movies. Reading the first book was bad enough and took me also long enough.

[identity profile] themostepotente.livejournal.com 2009-11-25 01:54 pm (UTC)(link)
I have zero desire to read the books. I don't ever foresee that changing, either. Still, it's nice to be there for your friends, even if it means two hours of discomfort :-)

I like the Volturi. I wish SMeyer DID something with them. It's like she purposely avoided every plot opportunity.

[identity profile] themostepotente.livejournal.com 2009-11-25 02:17 pm (UTC)(link)
I liked them, too! Don't they make another appearance?

Well, yeah. There's a lot of talk about a big battle in Breaking Dawn, but they just come and then . . . leave. The most anti-climatic thing ever.

Lame. But then I find so much of her storywriting lame. Starting with the sparkly bs and ending with the 'kinder, gentler' 'vegetarian' crap :P

wanting to see more Cullens and to hell with Edward. I feel very similarly about the Volturi.

Yes to both - they're the only redeeming features of the series.

[identity profile] themostepotente.livejournal.com 2009-11-25 02:18 pm (UTC)(link)
Totally agreed!

How have you been feeling, sweetie? *hugs*

I still have to watch the second movie; [livejournal.com profile] tarlwen, [livejournal.com profile] moonystone, and I are panning to be greatly amused by all the Edward-adoring teens around us and giggle shamelessly whenever the fancy takes us.

I've been sleeping a lot, which means getting better. Thanks :)

Oh, LORD, there were so many teenyboppers wearing their 'I ♥ Boys who Sparkle' t-shirts, it was sickening :P

Wish I could come with :-(

Glad you're feeling better <3 <3 <3

What I found amazing was that the English-language showing of the movie that we went to was full of these as well - apparently, Edward is even worth watching movies in English when you're not used to it.

Sleep always helps. Always ;)

I had to go and look at your profile to see where you were from. It's always interesting to me to see how popular/unpopular American culture is outside of the United States.

Vaysh and I just had a conversation about Germany, too, in which I woefully demonstrated my lack of geographical knowledge despite having relatives there. I'm a sad, little girl :P

Where are you from there?

Also, is that Prince Nuada on your userinfo page? *G*

I'm from Hamburg, which is in the north, and the second-biggest city with ca. 1.7 million people ;)

It sure is Nuada, on my "friends only" post and my default icon. He's OMGSOPRETTY! <3

[identity profile] themostepotente.livejournal.com 2009-12-01 03:18 am (UTC)(link)
Yes, yes he is. I don't suppose you've written any Nuada/Nuala? I've been jonesing for some Hellboy fic. *G*
