Finding Viktor Krum - Albus Severus/Viktor [NC-17] by Anon Author.
If it's at all possible to fall in love with a fic, then I fell hard and fast for this one. That probably sounds a bit odd coming from me, but if ever I believed in a storybook romance, then this is the fic I would want to marry. One look, and I just knew I was going to love 'Finding Viktor Krum.'
It's characterised extremely well. Albus Severus is cute and shy and a bit on the nerdy side working as an architect. Viktor is a surly pub-owning recluse trying like hell to avoid Elvis-style tabloid sightings. And Scorpius is well…Scorpius; unemployed and sponging off Albus Severus in yet the most charming ways possible.
It starts off with Albus Severus coming home from a regrettable outing. He's single and looking, but the club scene has once again proved fruitless. Problem is he's too keyed up to call it a night, and so he wanders into a deserted pub. Enter Viktor Krum, and you've got a bittersweet romance punctuated by Albus's insecurity and Scorpius's sharp wit.
I don't know where this surge of Viktor Krum fic is coming from, but I am so not complaining. This is the third one I've read that left me grinning from ear to ear.
Playing For Keeps - Eileen/Severus, (Eileen/Tobias) - [R] by Anon Author.
This? Is not a pretty fic. This? Is me so not caring. If you love Snape and well-written character studies, I highly recommend this. Admittedly, I was not keen on the idea of mother-son incest, and all throughout I was thinking this might work better as genfic. But when you reach the end, you understand the author's motivations. And wow, I just wasn't expecting that punch in the gut at all.
I was really impressed with the tone and cadence of this fic, and the author took special care to flesh out the game of Gobstones beautifully. Not an easy read, but definitely a compelling and convincing one.
The Artses
Nice Wandwork, Young Man - Snape/Minerva [NWS] by Anon Artist.
My guilty pleasure. Always.
Contrast - Snape/Hagrid [NWS] by Anon Artist.
I do not like this pairing. I will never like this pairing. But this is the most beautful, most haunting depiction of Snape and Hagrid I have ever seen.
Enjoy all!
