Fandom Discussion: Do non-artists have any business critiquing artists?

I love looking at fan art. Porny, erotic, gen. Doesn't matter. It's for my love of the fan artists that I pose this thread.

I don't know why, but when I see a non-artist critiquing an artist's work, it drives me bugfucky. I always want to lash out and say, 'look bitch, if you think you can do better -- bring it.'

This amuses me to no end too -- probably because I can't draw my way out of a paper bag :P

I know that when I see a particular piece of art that doesn't strike my fancy, I simply move on. For me, to even consider leaving criticism (constructive or otherwise) is simply unthinkable. Who the fuck am I to say 'that cock looks malformed' or 'your body is disproportionate?'

I've actually seen much worse too. I'm sure we all have.

So artists -- what do you think of non-artists critiquing your work?

Non-artists -- do you ever critique an artist's work?
