tl;dr

Okay -- this is just assinine.

Came across this on [livejournal.com profile] gmth's journal. And Gina, count me among those that had no fucking clue what the initials stood for either. *G*

Forget rude. There should be a Darwin Awards for stupid fucking fandom assholes.

Do you know how many stories I would have missed out on if I based my reading on length?

Fic is NOT a cock. Length does NOT matter.

I mean if something looks promising and you haven't the time, why wouldn't you just fucking bookmark?

If anything I'm more off-put by shorter fics, but Christ I read 'anything' that catches my eye.

Fuck, FIND me a 100,000 word Snack fic and I WILL BE ALL OVER THE MOTHERFUCKER!

So now I have to ask...

Is length (long or short) off-putting to a reader?

--P

ETA: Okay, I'm a dumbshit. I didn't read all the way down. Apparently it applies to comments not fics. But I'm with Gina, I wouldn't be surprised if someone didn't use this for fic either.

man, long stories are the best!! i LOVE long stories. its like... finding a golden treasure :B

also.. i thought the tl;dr thing was for fic.. because thats how i first saw it O.o too lazy to get the lj name, but someone made a livejournal about combining fics and said they combined ajas and cassies fics, and when you clicked the cut, it said tl;dr. i had no idea what it meant at the time :P thats the only time ive seen it used, actually O.o unless it was in discussion on its meaning haha

Hahaha, that's the best thing I've heard all day my dear. You make me smile. XD
Actually, when it comes to reading online length does matter to a certain extent. I'd rather read a short fic with just a few chapters than some long epic tale just because I get tension head-aches and I hate being pried away from my reading.

If I do read a long fic I have to carefully break it up into chunks, skim through the chapters and note which ones I could read in one sitting and which ones would I could group together. Who thought someone would have to plan out reading so carefully. lol
