Have you considered trying your hand at writing for another fandom? yes, actually, the reason I was known in the Violinist of Hameln fandom was for my fanfics, not my fanart =P (that fandom cared not about betas and grammar *L*)
Or perhaps you left another fandom to come to Harry Potter? Left the VoH one, but I'm coming back to it. It was partially for Harry Potter and partially because of massive wank -_-
Do you consider some of the fandoms to be flash in the pans? Peace Maker Kurogane might be, we'll see. Star Wars was *L* See, I didn't even list it!
And lastly, how long do you foresee the Harry Potter fandom lasting? A few years past the last book if it follows like other fandoms I've been in. I think it might be like Star Trek though, with the hard Core fans lasting forever but the mass popularity not outlasting the last book by much.
