The real trick to Remus is to watch for what he's *not* doing, instead of what he is. He creates a lot of dangerous situations because he doesn't do what he should when he should -- tell Dumbledore about Sirius, drink his Wolfsbane, talk to Snape about Harry's Occlumency lessons (okay, this one is just speculation, but he said he would and nothing changed)...
