Fuck. Work Woes.

Fuck, I do not even want to go in to work today. My nerves are just fucking shattered.

I work in a not-so-nice area of Detroit. Yesterday, we had a drive-by shooting right outside our doors. Some man was just driving his car and minding his own business when someone opened fire on him and shot him. A few times I'd heard. The police were outside and in our building all damn day.

The loud noise I heard during lunch was him slamming into a telephone pole. This? Disturbs me greatly. As it should. The world is not a safe place and it frightens me and makes me angry as all fuck.

I have a CCW license, and I am considering carrying a gun to work. I think this scares me even more than the actual shooting. That I would even have to consider this. I know nobody that carries a gun to work for safety reasons.

To make matters worse, our plumbing was all jacked up yesterday, too. The toilets were unflushable for most of the day. Half of me was crawling out of my skin wanting to go home while the other half of me was miserable with penis envy. Yeah, it's okay to laugh here :P

*sighs*

I need a sugar mama so I don't have to work, dammit. Any volunteers?

I went to Long Beach Polytechnic, which is an amazingly good school despite where it is located. It produced some fabulous talent, including Snoop Dogg and Cameron Diaz (but we hate her at our school), and where, in the early 1990s, there would be drive by shootings that occur ON the school campus (cars would race through the school, shooting at each other).

Edit: And thank you! It was fun to do, but towards the end, I was really stressed out by it. But the response to it has been amazing, and totally worth the effort :D It's not 100% done, actually. I will be editing it a bit before I post it at my LJ and DA, and ready it for printing.

Well, some areas of Detroit like Indian Village are very, very nice. While others, like the particular area I work in, is a fucking warzone.

It's funny you should mention moving to Seattle. I almost moved there with an ex in the early nineties. And then I went to visit scarah about two years into fandom and considered looking him up. It is a beautiful place, and there is a Starbuck's on every corner! LOL

I haven't made any decisions regarding the gun yet. I'm leaning towards 'no' for now.
