It's not the age disparity because I love to read HP/LM but that's because of the Isaacs factor. it's because I find it hard to divorce an aging Alan Rickman from my imagination.
I agree that the dynamics have so much potential and i have read Amy's Sharper Than Sunlight(?) and Nimori's The Pandora Complex and enjoyed both.
