Just leaving poor Snape there." - you have no idea how much that turned me into a raving, slavering, quasi-vindicvtive mess for a couple of days... apparently, in that Bloomsbury char JKR mentioned Harry arranging for his Portrait (so there goes the vampire getaway :-/), but yeah, the whole bloodbath at the end, skip over the mourning bit, have a party in the Headmaster's office, then on to the Epilogue. Um, yeah... where's the closure?
