Gifts - Snape/McGonagall [R] by Mystery Author.

What did Lee call this? Ah, yes, her 'guilty pleasure pairing.' Let me just second that with an enthusiastic yesss PLZ! I'm certain a lot of readers will scoff at the suggestion, but the chemistry is undeniable.

Shortly after Dumbledore's death, Severus returns to stake his claim as Hogwarts new Headmaster. Tensions rise and passions re-ignite.

Severus and Minerva depict the uncharacteristic May-December couple. And while the strain of war far exceeds any issue with age disparity, their relationship has endured a decade plus. It's not your typical brand of sexy either. Here, there are no round corners, there are sharp edges. Likewise, there are no lacy knickers, there are tartan flannels. You get my meaning, I'm sure.

There is a subtle hint of BDSM, but I suspect that's just the nature of their healthy rivalry and the thirty plus age gap. But there is a scene in the Headmaster's office that Severus directs, and it just sizzles.

I particularly liked the wards transference between Minerva and Severus, too. It's a neat bit of magic that reminds me once again why I adore the specifics of this fandom.

Recondita Armonia - Black sisters genfic [PG] by Mystery Author.

I love genfic, particularly of the Black variety. And 'Recondita Armonia' is a lovely, little fic comprised of three vignettes, one for each of the sisters Black.

This is a fic for mothers and daughters alike. I speak as a daughter; Despite upbringing, there comes a time when a girl will do as she pleases. And the sisters do.

I love that in three thousand words this fic explores togetherness (by blood), parting (by marriage) and reunion (by music). Light and light-hearted reading.

Scratching the Itch [NC-17] by Mystery Author.

HP meets The Devil Wears Prada. Or more appropriately, The Devil Wears Dragonhide. Draco shines as the chain-smoking, Miranda Priestly-esque head of a modelling agency. Despite his nervous habits/afflictions, he's at the top of his game, that is, until Harry Potter graces his office as a wannabe walk-in.

I adore this author's Draco to bits and pieces. He's a demanding, sharp-tongued prick with a penchant for perfectionism and a hypochondria-driven aversion to homosexuality. In fact, this fic gleefully pokes fun of all the pitfalls of fashion modelling, not excluding the size 'sinewy' is the new size 'stout' :P And Draco has his own special brand of dismissal that rivals the terse but funny 'That's all.'

Did I mention Draco's assistant's name is Penny? I was oddly flattered even though the name, I'm certain, is purely coincidental. And well, I'd kill to work under Draco. *sweatdrop*

I do have a minor quibble, however, that being I wish the author had kept the Muggleness to a minimum. It's a little more Muggle in places than I normally care for, but I just could not give a rat's arse here. Sometimes, you just have to say 'what the fuck' and throw caution to the wind.
