What can I say about Acid's work that hasn't already been said? She clearly wins at anatomy. The detail is just FANTABULOUS.

She's probably the only person I know that is able to convey this much emotion, this much depth through hands.

Fandom Discussion: The Potterverse and Smoking

When I first joined fandom, I didn't smoke. I went out of my way to lecture anyone around me that dared pollute my lungs. But then snaples drew a picture of Snape smoking, and I thought that was the hottest thing ever. I have no idea why this appealed to me. I was a proud non-smoker fercrissakes. Euw!

And now you couldn't pry the cloves from my cold, dead hands. And fuckin' A, I have one helluva smoking fetish now. Christ, put a cancer stick in any character's hand (especially Snape and Sirius), and I'll be whistling Zippity Doo Da out my asshole.

Pretty damn sad, innit? But I take comfort in the fact that I'm not alone.

Smoking Sirius reads canon for me. The bike. The leather jacket. The fag between his lips.

And Snape. I kink so bloody hard on Snape smoking that it isn't funny. Both lizardspots and ponderosa121 have drawn me pictures of Snape smoking, and I love them so much that I've had them iconized.

And don't the nicotine stains explain his yellowed teeth? Work with me, people :P

I've read countless fics since then that contain at least one character smoking a fag. And this makes me happy. I even went insofar as to create a wizard's brand of cigarettes called MacGillicuddy's for 'Filigree and Shadow.' And I seem to recall a Death Eater brand fashioned from a pack of European cigs. (maeglinyedi, wasn't the conversation between you and blackdracaena?)

So, yeah, I'm hooked. In more ways than one apparently. But I'm curious about what everyone else thinks.

Are you a smoker or non-smoker? Do you have a smoking fetish? Do you think smoking fics glamorize an otherwise bad habit and addiction?
