Is my LJ info scary and intimidating? And if it is -- why is it exactly? Several people have said so, and well, I'm wondering if I should mention I crochet doilies to balance out the ebil :P

Since I'm the only one, I thought I'd throw in that it's definitely intimidating -- people who state all that upfront usually intend to be intimidating, and frankly, I trust their judgement of themselves. I find your posts interesting, but I don't honestly think I'd want to meet you in person. I have nothing against gun owners (owned them), people with tattoos and piercings, bike riders (been one), or people proficient with Japanese weaponry. However, your info is definitely a statement. You want to tell me to back off, I be backin'.

The Dark Mark is a beautiful art piece, though, and I don't get the reaction to that.

That's funny you know, while I can back up imkalena on feeling definitely intimidated by the profile info, and being a fluffy bunny, closet hippie person myself reading "guns" made me hide under my desk looking for daisies to put in the barrels, my ultimate reaction was actually the opposite. After coming back up from under my desk, because there ain't no daisies there, I thought, "Damn, now I want to meet her in person", and friended right away. :D

I don't think so. ((Shrugs)) You have "baby" in your location, that makes you sound like a laid-back type, to me. :D It's kind of scarily long, though. (And scarily organised, but that's probably just me.) :D

But I know what you mean; I worry about mine being scary (or rude), as well. :D It's not that I mean to be scary (I don't think it is, currently, but it's been touched up a bit), it's just that I tend to go into bio-mode, where I'm trying to be brief and reel off the facts in a timely, and above all brief, manner. (And brevity is not my strong suite, so perhaps I overcompensate.)

I need to check out your stuff some more before I say much else. Criminal Justice is cool. I read about serial killers. I think if I'd known about such things, I'd have gone into forensic psychology. Too late now, because of my health. And you're only a year younger than I am.

Perhaps it does come across as aggressive and intimidating to some people who don't know you but this way it could also keep away people you wouldn't want to have anything to do with anyway.
