This was an intense night of television for me. First DA and then The Walking Dead.

I feel positively gutted about Sybil. I did NOT see that coming until it was too late.

And Thomas crying? All the feelings, I tell you. All of them. I really needed the writers to give him a non despicable moment.

I need it to be Sunday again. Like now.

I started to have horrible suspicions as soon as Sybil talked of her headache and swollen ankles, and then when Dr. Smarmy started condescending to our Dr. Clarkson, I was really nervous. But up until then, I never suspected it would be Sybil who would be the promised character who died. "Gutted" is the word. (As someone on my flist pointed out, it's typical Fellowes to kill off the rebel suffragette).

God, Sybil :(((((

She was one of my favourite characters. I really hope now that Mary's turned into a boring old lady that the writers do something awesome with Edith. I'm still annoyed she got jilted at the altar. But I think she's made of stronger and better things ♥

You know what really bothers me? The fact that O'Brien's character seems to not grow or change. I'm not sure where the writers are going with her. I really wanted to forgive her after the soap incident, but it looks as though she's returned to behaving badly. Much as I think Thomas sometimes deserves it.

I think Edith is going to be a trail blazer for the modern woman, much to her father's horror. Go Edith!

But there are people like that. My boss is one of them. I've worked in that school for 16 years and she's still a vindictive bully. Thomas needs to watch himself now with the new footman; O'Brien's setting that up nicely. Do you think she's aiming to tarnish both of them so her nephew gets 1st footman position?

Go Edith is what I say! I hated the idea of still being pissed off about that letter she'd sent to the Turkish consulate.

Oh, and I know there are people like O'Brien around. I just thought (hoped is more like it :P) we'd see more character development from her after the remorse about the soap.

Walking Dead. They had better not fuck up Michonne, s'all I'm saying.

If Michonne is the leash-holding, ninja-sword wielding, gorgeous badass, then me neither. I love what little I've seen of her ♥

Also, poor Herschel!

That is indeed her :). Other folks I know who've read the comics have been hanging out for her to get to the screen.

And yes, poor Herschel indeed! When they stopped checking the bodies, I figured someone was going to get bitten, but dammit, their doctor!

They're certainly not afraid to pull punches on this show. Though, I saw your most recent thread about some of the more graphic details of the comic, and I'm wondering if they'll go there.

I saw it from "swollen ankles" because, well, if there had been about two botched medical calls when in fact everything went fine, that would have been ME.

IKR? Just totally blindsided me. Of course, I'll still keep watching, because I am hopelessly addicted. *G*

I wept on and off for an hour until we finally started watching The Walking Dead. Still shaken. Glad you were there for me. <33

Sybil had to go though, didn't she, to keep some tension in the plot, although I didn't see it coming either. Now there'll be proud Tom wanting to take the baby to Liverpool and raise her as Irish and the family wanting to make sure the kid has the very best so she should stay at Downton - it's Lucy Ewing all over again! Also, we now have major relationship drama with Cora and Robert (so much better than that maid he was kissing in series 2).

LOL, Lucy Ewing! Are you having Dallas feels, bb?

OMFG, can we discuss the maid and how random that whole notion was? Ugh, Robert, ugh. What was the bloody point of that?
